Dr. Alan R. Shark is the Executive Director of the Public Technology Institute (PTI) since 2004; now part of the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA). He is a Fellow of the National Academy for Public Administration and Chair of the Standing Panel on Technology Leadership. He is as Associate Professor for the Schar School of Policy and Government, George Mason University, and is Course Developer/Instructor at Rutgers University Center for Government Services

 

Dr. Shark’s thought leadership activities have been recognized globally and activities include keynote speaking, blogging, conducts a bi-weekly podcast called Sharkbytes, and is the author or co-author of over 12 books including the nationally recognized university textbook “Technology and Public Management” as well as CIO Leadership for Cities and Counties.

Doug Robinson has served as Executive Director of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) since 2004. Founded in 1969, NASCIO is the only national organization representing state chief information officers of the fifty states and territories.  He is responsible for the overall executive leadership of the association including strategic plan and policy execution, government affairs, strategic alliances, emerging issues and board and committee oversight.  He also provides strategic direction for NASCIO’s initiatives and advocacy positions on issues such as cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, IT governance, information sharing and business innovation.  Doug is a frequent speaker, panelist, author and recognized national expert representing state CIOs, policy issues, priorities and trends in state government IT. 

His career spans almost forty years in public sector information technology including positions in state government, higher education and IT consulting.  Prior to joining NASCIO he served as Executive Director in the Governor's Office for Technology, Commonwealth of Kentucky.
